GAAL<br \/>\n<\/strong>Huntington<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Editor\u2019s Note:<\/em><\/strong><em> Here is a link to information about scholarships on the PEF website:\u00a0 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pef.org\/about\/scholarships\/\"><em>https:\/\/www.pef.org\/about\/scholarships\/<\/em><\/a><em>.\u00a0 In addition, we typically publish information in The Communicator about scholarships in our combined December-January issue.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Sign a new contract with the state<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>To the Editor:<\/strong>\u00a0 CSEA already signed its contract with the state.\u00a0 What is the status\u00a0of\u00a0the PEF contract? \u00a0PEF needs to sign the contract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIRISH DESAI<br \/>\n<\/strong>Stony Brook<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Editor\u2019s note:<\/strong>\u00a0 The contract between CSEA and the state is not the same as PEF\u2019s contract with the state, and CSEA\u2019s previous contract expired. PEF\u2019s has not.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The current PEF contract with the state will expire April 1, 2023.\u00a0 PEF will have its first meeting with the state Office of Employee Relations next month (November) regarding a new contract.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The current PEF contract has 50 articles and is 258 pages long. \u00a0Most provisions of the current contract will remain in effect until a new contract agreement is reached and ratified by PEF members.\u00a0 You can review the 2019-2023 PEF contract with the state here:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pef.org\/pef_files\/files\/pdf\/2019-2023-Agreement.pdf\">https:\/\/www.pef.org\/pef_files\/files\/pdf\/2019-2023-Agreement.pdf<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interested in scholarships To the Editor:\u00a0 I am a PEF member, and I am interested in speaking with someone about PEF scholarships.
