Some of the agencies in need include the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS), the NYS Insurance Fund (NYSIF), the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and more. Under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program, or HELP, civil service exams for these titles are temporarily waived.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.ny.gov\/help\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">An application portal<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> was created to deal with HELP openings and candidates can upload an application and resume right now. Candidates still must meet minimum qualifications and other conditions of employment to be considered for the positions.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;From the medical personnel staffing our hospitals to the social workers connecting families to vital services, the brave New Yorkers who support the health and human services sector are our state&#8217;s everyday heroes,&#8221; Governor Hochul said in a press release. &#8220;In light of a recent worker shortage, New York State is taking temporary measures to help agencies fill critical roles in health and human services and promote the safety and well-being of all New Yorkers.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The HELP program extends through March 31, 2024.
