(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/lgaqA5BsyI4\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Watch the nursing teams get the news<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">!)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roswellpark.org\/newsroom\/202502-roswell-park-team-gets-call-youve-earned-magnet-recognition-nursing-excellence\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Magnet designation<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is a results-driven recognition that highlights the role nurses play as part of an interprofessional team focused on improving patient outcomes. They all agreed \u2013 they do this to help patients during some of their darkest days.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe choose this path because we have a drive to help and support our patients through some of the most difficult times of their lives, providing both the medical care they need and emotional comfort as well,\u201d said <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Christina Haidar<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, an inpatient oncology nurse, whose role includes administering medications such as chemotherapy, and guiding patients and their families with information and support.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7040\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7040\" style=\"width: 174px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7040\" cell transplant unit, registered nurse <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Julia May<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> goes home each day feeling fulfilled and is proud of the work being done at Roswell.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cRoswell Park\u2019s transplant unit is continuously evolving with new medical advancements, and it is a privilege to be able to witness the positive effects it has on our patients\u2019 outcomes firsthand,\u201d she said. \u201cSince Roswell is a comprehensive center, I love when I run into a former patient somewhere in the hospital and see how far they\u2019ve come since receiving their transplant and hear about the life they are living, cancer-free.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7041\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7041\" style=\"width: 175px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" Roswell, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Alex Augustine<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> loves working at Roswell.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe have a special population of patients who are very grateful to be receiving care here,\u201d Augustine said. \u201cI savor every interaction I have with my patients, and the best part of my job is being able to care for our patients through one of the hardest times of their lives.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In addition to being one of only about 10 percent of U.S. hospitals that have ever achieved Magnet recognition, Roswell\u2019s Intensive Care Unit earned the prestigious <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roswellpark.org\/newsroom\/202503-roswell-parks-intensive-care-unit-earns-national-recognition-exceptional-patient\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Beacon Award for Excellence<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> from AACN, a recognition that underscores the hospital\u2019s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.<\/span><span
