August 8, 2025 —<\/em> After several years of active participation in the New York State Public Employee Conference<\/a> (NYSPEC), a coalition of labor unions that fight for the rights of public employees in the State, PEF President Wayne Spence was recently named a co-chair.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am grateful for this opportunity to continue working with this coalition to build PEF\u2019s political power and use the coalition\u2019s collective voice to affect real change for our members across New York,\u201d said President Spence. \u201cBy participating in organizations such as the Public Employee Conference, we position PEF as a leader in the labor movement. We are stronger together.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NYSPEC was formed just before the creation of PEF, in 1977, and has grown from an initial group of 13 member unions to more than 90 unions and umbrella organizations today.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

President Spence\u2019s involvement in the coalition will help propel PEF\u2019s legislative agenda and top priorities into the spotlight and build a united front for organized labor concerns across the state.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
