December 18, 2025 — Special Elections balloting is complete, and four new leaders have joined the PEF Executive Board.

David Downing secured Seat 30, representing certain members at the Department of Corrections and Community Services (DOCCS); Margaret Dobbins won Seat 180, representing certain members at the Department of Health (DOH); Scott Avidon cinched Seat 220, representing Workers’ Compensation Board members; and Marie Denis won election to Seat 325, representing certain members at the Office of Mental Health (OMH).

The next round of Special Elections will be in January 2026 for the following seats:

  • Seat 15: Civil Service
  • Seat 35: DOCCS
  • Seat 50: DOCCS
  • Seat 127: Homeland Security
  • Seat 161: State Police
  • Seat 173: ITS
  • Seat 200: DOH
  • Seat 505: DOT

Nominating petitions will be available Jan. 5, 2026, at http://www.pef.org/elections or by calling 800-342-4306, ex. 337, and must be received back by 5 p.m. Jan. 27, 2026. For those in contested races, ballots will be mailed in February and counted in March.
