Rodger Benson HeadshotI worked with Roger Benson at PEF from 1986 through his nine years as president. It has been more than 20 years since his leadership, but we remained friends and I often called him for advice and guidance.  He was always there.

He was more than just a union president to me, he was a mentor, a confidante, and a true friend. His genuine kindness and caring touched me in ways I never imagined possible.

Before I met Roger, I never truly understood what a mentor was. Under his wing, I grew beyond what I thought I could. He saw my potential and there is no greater gift he could have given me.

Whenever I made mistakes, he never made me feel bad about them. Instead, he encouraged me to learn and grow, and for that, I am deeply grateful and will miss him.
