Darlene and Randi Convention 2024

May 2, 2025 — The Convention Committee made several trips to this year’s Convention site in Lake Placid, paving the way for the 47th annual PEF Convention from Oct. 19 to 22, 2025.

With a tentative delegate count of about 700, this year is proving to be the largest Convention in years. The count won’t be confirmed until after the results for contested elections are available. Ballots for contested constituencies were mailed April 28 and are due back May 19. Elected delegates will receive information from the Special Events department in July regarding registration, travel, and lodging.

The last time PEF held its Convention in Lake Placid was October 2018.

“We are excited so many members will be participating in PEF’s highest decision-making body, this year in the beautiful Lake Placid region,” said Convention Committee Chair Darlene Williams. “With federal cuts and increased anti-union attacks, we need all hands on deck this year. Our Special Events team and the Convention Committee have been hard at work making sure everything runs smoothly while we conduct the business of the union.”

PEF Vice President Randi DiAntonio said one of the key action items of the Convention is voting on the state and federal legislative agendas, which determine the union’s legislative and political objectives, and which are developed by members, regional Political Action Committees, and annual Convention delegates each fall.

Members are encouraged to read through the current state and federal agendas and submit recommended changes for consideration at this year’s Convention. Please send your recommendations to Danielle Blue in the Legislative Office at Danielle.Blue@pef.org.
